Adam Morley Announces His Candidacy for State Representative, District 19
QUALITY OF LIFE CANDIDATE ADAM MORLEY RUNS FOR STATE REPRESENTATIVE, DISTRICT 19
ST. AUGUSTINE, Florida (October 15, 2024) – St. Johns County resident and native Northeast Floridian Adam Morley is running for State Representative, District 19, which encompasses St. Johns and Flagler Counties. Morley has a proven track record of support for his district, and his commitment to responsibly representing his home is unmatched. A small business owner, Morley has built a solid reputation in the community through hard work, ingenuity, and true grit. His priorities include (1) safeguarding water resources, ensuring they remain pristine for current/future generations, (2) empowering local governments to make decisions that best serve the unique needs of its communities by championing Home Rule, (3) stopping overdevelopment by preserving green spaces while striking a balance between responsible planning and protecting the area’s natural treasures.
“This is more than a political race for me," Morley says. "I was born and raised here and made the decision to raise my own family and start a business here. I’m invested in the now and the future, and I’m not going anywhere. District 19 deserves a representative who is ingrained in the community and approaches legislation from a resident’s perspective. I believe in uniting our community on common ground issues, focusing on solutions that transcend political divides. As a small business owner and native resident, I share the concerns of my neighbors. My long-term goals include preserving our quality of life, stopping overdevelopment, championing local control, and keeping the outdoors wild and accessible for sports and recreation.”
Adam Morley is a native Floridian who spent his formative years in St. Johns and Flagler Counties. He and his wife, Janine, also a native of Northeast Florida, own and operate Genung’s Fish Camp, continuing the legacy of one of Crescent Beach’s beloved businesses, which has served generations since 1948. Morley actively supports charitable organizations throughout the community, hosting oyster roasts, silent auctions, and other fundraisers at the camp’s event space. A lifelong mariner, Morley was raised with a deep respect for the water and has held a United States Coast Guard Licensed Master Captain’s license for 20 years. He has an intimate knowledge of the area’s unique ecology from decades of leading eco-tours and fishing trips.
Morley has a history of community service, as exemplified by his efforts to coordinate with local businesses in the St Augustine area to gather supplies to send weekly to the communities on the west coast of Florida as they recover from Hurricanes Helene and Milton. Morley has also repeatedly made himself available to his community year after year in storm recovery and preparation efforts. He is the vice chair of the Florida Wildlife Federation board, is past chair of the Flagler Sportfishing Club, is the past president of the Friends of A1A and Friends of Anastasia State Park and is a past board member of the Friends of Tomoka Basin State Park and North Florida Coastal Caretakers.
