Chez L’Amour

GLOBAL BITES & FRESH SIPS ARE IN SEASON THIS SUMMER AT CHEZ L’AMOUR

ST. AUGUSTINE, Florida (June 21, 2024) – Warm summer days were made for light bites, juicy wines, and dancing with good friends. They’re even better when it’s hosted by AJ and Jeanetta Cebollero, a husband and wife team that is obsessed with bringing the good times to St. Augustine. Chez L’Amour, their modern take on a jazzy supper club, is excited to announce its new summer menu starting today, Friday, June 21st. Located at 45 San Marco Avenue in the artistic Uptown St. Augustine district, Chez L’Amour’s new offerings are all about embracing the summer season.

“For me, summer is all about Southern backyard barbecues and travel,” says Executive Chef Ellie Schultze. “This menu is about capturing the nostalgia of the season. Our food and beverage staff worked very closely to create a cohesive presentation, with a focus on all of the beautiful and seasonal vegetables and fruits.”

The food at Chez L’Amour is global and evocative, with Executive Chef Schultze taking inspiration from far and near. New dishes include Mapo Tofu, a silken tofu block seasoned with Sichuan peppercorn, roasted chili oil, and drenched in a savory minced pork sauce; Crab Rangoon Dip, a takeout favorite all grown up with lump crab meat and scallion cream cheese; Compressed Watermelon Salad, fresh melon infused with yuzu mint simple syrup, ponzu, Fresno chili, shaved red onion, queso fresco, and a mixed herb salad; and Nopalita Tartare, grilled cactus married with sweet summer corn, roasted cherry tomatoes, sweet potatoes, herb aioli, and house-brined potato chips.

Bar Director Guillermo Barrera has created a unique beverage program that complements the menu. “Our new wine list features really juicy vintages, perfect for the heat,” says Barrera. “We’ve had a lot of fun rediscovering old cocktail recipes and putting a modern spin on them. So many cocktails tend to be sweet in the summer – we really wanted to flip it and go vegetal.” A great example is The Heiress. It’s a spin on the Bloody Mary, made with fresh heirloom tomatoes for a lighter texture. The new Thai Me Up or Thai Me Down is a traditional Thai tea, built from scratch, that can be served up, shaken in a martini glass, or down over rocks.

Later in the summer, Chez L’Amour is teaming up with Breakthru Beverage Florida and Carrera Wine Cellar to host Summer & Vine, Chez L’Amour’s spin on a summer wine party. It will feature five days of tastings, pairings, live music, and al fresco events. Beginning Wednesday, July 27, the good times continue through Sunday, July 28th.
