ST. AUGUSTINE, FLORIDA, WELCOMES MAKR DESIGN STUDIO TO LOCAL BUSINESS COMMUNITY
ST. AUGUSTINE, Florida (August 21, 2024)—The Nation’s Oldest City is now home to MAKR, a design studio and manufacturer that uses technology to create bespoke utilitarian products in an artistic and thoughtful manner. They build everyday products with high-quality materials and obsessive attention to detail, creating pieces designed to age beautifully and last a lifetime. Previously located in Winter Park, MAKR is now headquartered in St. Augustine, Florida at 64 S Dixie Highway, Unit B, behind Imagine Fine Art Printing.
“MAKR is born from my desire to make things,” says owner Jason Gregory. “As both an industrial design firm and manufacturer, we are constantly innovating and evolving our techniques. Advances in the production of our designs ensure efficiency and consistency, but they don’t reach production until they’ve been rigorously evaluated by our team. We adhere strictly to our values of quality and simplicity.”
MAKR creates an array of products from a variety of mediums, from soft goods and leather accessories to product design, furniture, and interior architecture. Its most popular items include Midori Covers, Fold Weekender Bags, and the new Round Luxe Plus Wallet. In addition to their in-line brand, the studio accepts special projects for private clients like furniture, custom leather goods, and industrial components. Each MAKR design is the result of a rigorous process that values quality, refinement, and simplicity as necessary traits for an object of everyday use. Taking an industrial approach to craft, MAKR began with the goal of creating long-lasting designs with carefully considered details and construction techniques. With this level of commitment, designs are continually evaluated and refined. Products are introduced as they reach a level of quality and utility rather than in response to a market calendar or set schedule. The studio maintains a strict commitment to socially responsible labor practices. Items are hand-crafted, either in the St. Augustine studio or at a St. Petersburg factory, with whom the studio has maintained a respectful relationship for the past 15 years.
The MAKR Studio is open by appointment only, and in-store shopping is not available. All items may be viewed and purchased on the MAKR website.
