Moonlit Mysteries Boat Tour
FLORIDA WATER TOURS’ NEWEST CRUISE SHOWCASES ST. AUGUSTINE AFTER DARK
ST. AUGUSTINE, Florida (August 12, 2024) – It’s a place where history oozes out of every paved brick and coquina wall, where beautifully pink roseate spoonbills peacefully glide through the balmy air, and dolphins play in the water’s wake. The ancient city of St. Augustine is spectacular throughout the year, but it’s especially magical on the water. At Florida Water Tours, a family-owned and operated ecotourism company, the captains and crew are passionate environmental advocates. They specialize in fun and educational boat tours for vacationers and locals alike, highlighting the beauty of St. Augustine’s intracoastal waterways and maritime ecosystem.
The Moonlit Mysteries: Stargazing and Haunted History Boat Tour takes you on the water at dark, cruising across Matanzas Bay to downtown's historic bayfront. The crew narrates special celestial events like shooting stars, full moons, and planet alignments, as well as talks about ancient navigation techniques. There are even special appearances from Paul Jones from the Ancient City Astronomy Club, who will talk about the constellations that you can see in the night sky of St. Augustine! Star gaze while you feel the salty breeze on your face; take in the darkness while you hear the haunted tales of the oldest city – one of the most haunted places in the United States. This hour-and-a-half enchanting tour is available Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, and sets sail at various times depending on the season and sunset. Children ages 13 and older are welcome, as the cruise is geared towards adults and teens. Explore St. Augustine on the water after dark for $29 per person, which includes one complimentary beverage. Additional refreshments are available for purchase onboard.
Founded in 2016, Florida Water Tours is the brainchild of Jessica Jadick, who has been a marine wildlife and conservation enthusiast for most of her life. After studying marine biology, she was inspired to share her love of the water and its wildlife with others. Jadick operates the business with her husband, Master Captain Michael Jadick, along with their amazing team, Master Captain Kevin Jadick and educator Kristie Corrigan. They won a Travelers' Choice Award on Tripadvisor in 2023, and feel like they’re living the dream. “If you had asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, it would be this!” says Jessica. In addition to their Moonlit Mysteries evening tour, Florida Water Tours offers family-friendly tours, adult-only cruises, and more. The unforgettable Dolphin and Wildlife Adventure is a 90-minute bestseller that is great for families, taking you through wetlands and coastal marshes to find an ecosystem teaming with wildlife. Sunset Cruises are available for anyone who wants to sail in the glorious evening breeze as the daylight fades. Wine Tasting Cruises, private tours, and so many more are available. Florida Water Tours has three vessels, The Osprey, The Island Breeze, and Salty Dreams, as well as a shop called The Salty Boutique, located at Camachee Cove Yacht Harbor. There is plentiful free parking, and their vessels are just a short walk from their shop, located at Dock A-19 and A-12. Photos to accompany the press release can be found here.
