The Florida Man Games™ Tryouts Are Nov. 17th
ST. AUGUSTINE, Florida (November 12, 2024) – The Florida Man Games™ are a proving ground for those who embody the true spirit of the Sunshine State and separates the legends from the rest. This year, The Florida Man Games™ is hosting open tryouts for the 2025 games. Of course, they got a true Florida Man to host the tryouts. WWE superstar and Florida native Sam Shaw is holding the tryouts at his acclaimed wrestling school, Hatchet Pro Wrestling. Tryouts are November 17, 2024, at 11am. Registration begins at 10:30am at 50 Ellis Street, Suite 203, in St. Augustine, Florida. And this year, the Games are looking for the wildest Florida-bred men and women.
“Some of the best ‘Florida Man’ stories are ‘Florida Woman’ stories,” says Pete Melfi, Founder and Commissioner of The Florida Man Games™. “If you can chug a beer in record time, hold your own in a brawl, or handle Florida’s most infamous reptile with ease, this is your moment. Whether your talents include wrangling an alligator or surviving a hurricane party, your chance to compete in the most thrilling event Florida has ever seen is here.”
The Florida Man Games™ is looking for individuals who embody the true spirit of the Sunshine State. Those who can tackle unconventional challenges, thrive under pressure, and put their unique skill set to the test. Events at tryouts will include:
Florida Sumo: Sumo it out in a professional wrestling ring, and try not to spill your beer.
Gator Throw: Throw gators through the drive-through window and knock down the attendant.
Weaponized Pool Noodles: Gladiator jousting with weaponized pool noodles and lots of duct tape.
Participants must be 21 years of age or older and will need to prove their Florida residency. Participants can register at www.TheFloridaManGames.com/Teams. A limited number of walk-in spaces are available, with walk-in registration opening at 10:30am. And bring your best Florida man or woman story.
“Florida’s known for its larger-than-life stories, and this event is where those stories come to life,” said Melfi. “If you’ve ever felt like you were made for more, this is your chance to prove it.”
The Florida Man Games™ is scheduled for Saturday, March 1st, 2025 at the St. Johns County Fairgrounds, 5840 FL-207 E in Elkton, Florida. The Florida Man Games™ will benefit the Jimmy Jam Community Outreach, a local 501(c)(3) that helps local residents in need. General admission tickets are $45 and VIP tickets are $145.
