15th Annual St. Johns All-County Middle School Art Show
ST. AUGUSTINE, Florida (February 12, 2025) – For over a century, the St. Augustine Art Association (STAAA) has been committed to fostering excellence and honoring the rich heritage of artistic creation. This mission is especially important for the area’s youngest creatives. The STAAA’s 15th Annual St. Johns All-County Middle School Art Show is a platform for students in grades sixth through eighth to showcase their talents. The exhibit will be displayed at the St. Augustine Art Association, 22 Marine Street in St. Augustine, and online at staaa.org from March 7th through March 30th, 2025.
“The study and experience of art is so critical to developing young minds,” says Jennifer Flynt, Executive Director of STAAA. “That’s why we’re thrilled to work with the St. Johns County School District to recognize the importance of art and foster creativity in its youth. Yes, art is an important tool for self-expression, but it also helps students develop critical thinking skills, communication, and creativity. It also connects students with not just their culture and heritage but others as well. It’s a conveyance of history, experience, and thought.”
The 15th Annual St. Johns All-County Middle School Art Show will be displayed at the St. Augustine Art Association from March 7th through March 30th. The exhibit is available online at any time and in the gallery from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesdays through Sundays. The show will include works by students enrolled in art programs through the St. Johns County School District. This exhibit celebrates creativity and supports young artists by fostering an appreciation for art and recognizing the talented youth in the area. Its companion exhibit, the 20th Annual St. Johns All-County High School Art Show, debuts on April 4th.
The exhibit opens during St. Augustine’s First Friday Art Walk on Friday, March 7th, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Gallery visitors can also enjoy the Spring Members Show, which runs concurrently. The 15th Annual St. Johns All-County Middle School Art Show is presented in partnership with the St. Johns County Schools. It and the Spring Members Show are also sponsored partly by grants from the St. Johns County Tourist Development Council, the St. Johns County Cultural Council, the Community Foundation for Northeast Florida, and the Benjamin & Jean Troemel Arts Foundation.
