Move Over, Florida Man - There’s Some Ball Busters Coming Out to Play
ST. AUGUSTINE, Florida (February 11, 2025) – Like the rumble of a gator’s growl, the allure of The Florida Man Games™ calls to a select few brave enough to accept the challenge. This year, the Games captured its first all-female team, and they’re here to bust some balls and wear that gator skin belt.
“It’s great that the ladies have come out to play this year,” says Pete Melfi, Founder and Commissioner of The Florida Man Games™. “Our all-women team, the Ball Busters, hail from The Swamp of Gainesville and are definitely bringing all the sass and grit you’d expect out of Florida Women.”
In addition to the all-women team, the Ball Busters, each team must include one gal to compete in The Florida Man Games™ newest event that hits every lady’s biggest headache right in the balls – her baby daddy. Female competitors must use a sports bra and silicone to shoot out the lit cigarette he’s smoking around the Florida Baby. The Florida Man Games™ Round 2 features twelve teams plus two teams that will be selected from the crowd. The teams drafted from the crowd will represent the cities of Tampa and Orlando. This year’s competitors are last year’s champions, Hanky Spanky, from St. Augustine; Cooter Commandos from Inverness; Storm Surge from Jacksonville; Screamin’ Eagles from Fort Myers; AMPhetamines from St. Augustine Beach; The Flawd Man from Pensacola; Ball Busters from Gainesville; El Diablo & The Firecrackers from Alachua County; Red Eyed Gator Huggers from DeLand; and Hatchet Pro Wrestling from St. Johns.
Round 2 is fixing to be even bigger, even better, and even more Florida than last year, with new events like Hurricane Party Prep: Grocery Aisle Brawl and Human Beer Pong, hosts Josh @omgitswicks Robinson and Kevin @floridaman Flynn, live commentary by Mike @mikebuseyshow Busey, an appearance by Lane @thebigguy904 Pittman, and plenty of surprises that are currently trapped in the Commissioners warped mind.
“Some event organizers edit down their crazy ideas. Me? Not so much,” laughs Melfi. “I like to keep it fresh and weird. If a great Florida Man headline pops up or I get some ridiculous shower idea, there’s a really good chance we’ll make it work ASAP! Our athletes are as real and as Florida as it gets – they love a good challenge.”
The Florida Man Games™ is scheduled for Saturday, March 1st, at the St. Johns County Fairgrounds, 5840 FL-207 E in Elkton, Florida. The Florida Man Games™ will benefit the Jimmy Jam Community Outreach, a local 501(c)(3) that helps local residents in need. General admission tickets are $45, and VIP tickets are $145.
