ANCIENT CITY BREWING BOOS AND BREWS 5K RACE + 1-MILE FUN RUN RETURNS OCTOBER 26TH
ST. AUGUSTINE, Florida (August 26, 2024) – Lace up your fastest running shoes and put on the most ghoulish costume around for Ancient City Brewing’s annual Boos and Brews 5k Race and 1-mile Fun Run. Presented in partnership with Run4Beer and Florida Race Day, the yearly Halloween race and after-party start at 5 p.m. on Saturday, October 26th, at Ancient City Brewing’s Flagship Brewhouse at 3420 Agricultural Center Drive in St. Augustine.
“This is such a fun Halloween tradition,” says Britta Messler, General Manager at Ancient City Brewing (ACB). “It’s great to see everyone at the Brewhouse, in costume and jazzed up to get moving. We’ve got a wide range of age groups for the awards, from 19 and under to 70 and older, so it really is a great bonding activity for families and friend groups. And if they form a team, they can create a super creative name and win the fastest or slowest team award, depending upon your goals!”
The Boos and Brews 5k and 1-mile Fun Run take off from the ACB Flagship Brewhouse. This is a chip-timed race, with timing services by Florida Race Day. The course map may be viewed here. Everyone receives a glow-in-the-dark finisher medal, with additional awards for the top men and women finishers in age groups 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and older. Racers can also create a four-person team, with awards going to the fastest and slowest teams. The 1-mile Fun Run will not be timed. But don’t leave after the race – there’s going to be one heck of a Halloween afterparty, complete with a costume contest, food truck, music, and a free ACB draft beer for finishers 21 years and older. Registration is open for runners of all abilities. The 5K is $35 per person until August 31st and the price increases to $40 on October 1st. Race day registration is $45 per person, cash or check only. The 1-mile Fun Run is $25 per person. ACB still brews and cans its beers at the Flagship Brewhouse, located in an industrial warehouse complex just off SR 16 and I-95. Locals and visitors alike can enjoy a freshly poured beer at the flagship Brewhouse or the Downtown Taproom on Cathedral Place. ACB creates seasonal varieties and its core brews: Augustine’s Orange Amber Ale, Galleon’s Golden Ale, Anastasia Island India Pale Ale, Castillo Coconut Porter, Matanzas River Red Ale, and Ponce’s Pale Ale.
