Romanza’s Collage Concert Series
LINDA COLE, AKIA UWANDA, + MORE HEADLINE ROMANZA’S COLLAGE CONCERT SERIES
ST. AUGUSTINE, Florida (September 17, 2024) – Romanza is pleased to announce that it is offering a series of five powerhouse concerts as a prelude to the Romanza’s Festivale of Music & the Arts. Romanza is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the arts in St. Augustine and is the driving force behind an array of cultural events. Romanza’s Collage Concert Series begins September 28th and takes place at The Waterworks at 184 San Marco Ave. in St. Augustine.
“Our organization is really pleased with how the Collage Series has come together,” says Albert Syeles, Romanza Co-Founder and President. “We wanted to create a program that showed a real breadth of talent, with music that speaks to the audience and transports them to a different time and place.”
The series begins September 28, 2024, with local legend Linda Cole. Cole has dedicated her life to preserving the Great American Songbook and educating the world about jazz. A seasoned performer, she’ll perform the music of Nat King Cole and other standards. On October 26, 2024, enjoy a taste of the tropics with The Jazzy Blue Band. Inspired by his time performing and living in St. Croix, local favorite Jazzy Blue performs timeless favorites and original compositions mixed with Caribbean treasures. Crowd favorite On Point returns on November 23, 2024, to bring down the house with its exciting a cappella renditions of popular favorites and some holiday favorites with a modern twist. The Collage Series returns on January 25, 2025, with Akia Uwanda. Known for smooth vocals and an ethereal stage presence, Jacksonville’s Akia Uwanda has performed worldwide. Her program is an intimate look at the raw power of jazz and soul. Finally, love is in the air on February 15, 2025, with A Celebration of Love Songs. Celebrate Valentine’s Day with local artists performing renditions of the world’s greatest love songs. All performances begin at 7:30pm at The Waterworks, a historic venue in Uptown St. Augustine. The Romanza Collage Concert Series is a prelude to the Romanza Festivale of Music & the Arts. Beginning May 2, 2025, it is a seventeen-day festival featuring over 30 events with talent from the world of music, dance, visual arts, theatre, spoken word, culinary, and more.
